Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security controls to protect cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS standards
- Document security incidents and create detailed incident response reports
- Lead security awareness training programs for employees
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerized environments
- Strong understanding of network protocols and TCP/IP
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize threats under pressure
- Valid Oregon driver's license (for occasional client site visits)
