You will work closely with the security operations center (SOC) to monitor network traffic, investigate anomalies, and implement robust defense strategies. Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough log analysis and threat hunting to detect malicious activity within the network.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to strengthen system defenses.
- Develop and maintain Incident Response (IR) playbooks and procedures.
- Enforce security policies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, NIST, PCI-DSS).
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to remediate security vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity or SOC environment.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, and switching protocols.
- Familiarity with firewall management (Cisco, Palo Alto) and network security appliances.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
