Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events across the enterprise network using SIEM tools like Splunk and Sentinel.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses in systems and applications.
- Investigate security breaches and incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing remediation strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Manage and configure firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security appliances.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA through regular audits and policy enforcement.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees to foster a culture of security hygiene.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Security+ certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network security.
- Strong technical knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, switching, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation and log analysis.
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
