Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark
- Implement network security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve network outages and service disruptions
- Document network configurations, topologies, and standard operating procedures
- Perform regular network audits and capacity planning
- Support cloud-based infrastructure including AWS/Azure networking components
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Network Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on network administration experience
- CCNA or CompTIA Network+ certification required
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configurations
- Experience with network monitoring tools and network automation
- Strong troubleshooting skills for wired/wireless network issues
- Knowledge of network security best practices (NIST compliance)
- Valid Texas driver's license for occasional client site visits
