Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and other regulatory frameworks
- Develop and execute penetration testing exercises to identify vulnerabilities
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders and technical teams
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in security tools: SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and packet analyzers
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust architectures
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical security incidents
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 security operations center coverage
