Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and detect/respond to security incidents in real-time 24/7.
- Conduct threat hunting and vulnerability assessments to proactively identify risks.
- Analyze security logs and telemetry data to uncover suspicious activities and anomalies.
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to implement security patches and firewalls effectively.
- Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and comprehensive documentation.
- Ensure strict compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 standards.
- Perform regular audits of access controls and user permissions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certification such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC is highly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a SOC or Security Operations Center environment.
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and endpoint security.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required.
