Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using Splunk and ArcSight SIEM platforms
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks and incident response plans
- Analyze IDS/IPS alerts and correlate threat intelligence with real-world events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during security incident investigations
- Implement and optimize security controls including firewalls, EDR solutions, and access controls
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or similar environment
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, or GIAC preferred (CompTIA Security+ required)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network packet analysis
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong understanding of NIST frameworks and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize complex security events
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
