Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify and investigate potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses before malicious actors exploit them.
- Manage incident response processes, including containment, eradication, and recovery from security breaches.
- Enforce and update security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
- Analyze security logs and network traffic to detect anomalous behavior and recommend proactive mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT operations and software development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Provide security awareness training to employees to reduce the risk of phishing and social engineering attacks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related role.
- Valid certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
