Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, or LogRhythm).
- Conduct thorough investigations into potential security breaches, incidents, and anomalies.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify system weaknesses.
- Implement and manage security controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Develop, document, and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO).
- Collaborate with IT operations and software development teams to remediate vulnerabilities and patch systems promptly.
- Stay abreast of the latest threat intelligence and emerging cyber attack vectors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent years of experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or threat intelligence.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and security architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR).
