Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight) to identify and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify system weaknesses.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, performing forensic analysis to understand the scope and impact of breaches.
- Manage and configure firewalls, VPNs, and other security appliances to enforce network policies and access controls.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security controls into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, and NIST.
- Document security incidents, procedures, and findings to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CompTIA Network+ are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar cybersecurity role.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, and common protocols.
- Experience with identity and access management (IAM) solutions (e.g., Okta, Active Directory).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and incident response.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
