As a thought leader in our Austin-based AI Ethics Lab, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop auditable fairness metrics, bias mitigation protocols, and transparency standards. You'll influence industry best practices through published research and policy advocacy, ensuring our AI deployments remain trustworthy and inclusive as technology evolves toward 2026's landscape.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement ethical AI governance frameworks for next-generation autonomous systems
- Lead research initiatives on bias detection and fairness metrics in large-scale ML models
- Develop auditable transparency protocols for explainable AI (XAI) implementations
- Coordinate with engineering teams to embed ethical safeguards into AI development lifecycles
- Author industry white papers and policy recommendations for 2026 AI regulatory landscape
- Mentor junior researchers while establishing partnerships with academic institutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Ethics, Philosophy, or related field with 5+ years AI ethics experience
- Proven track record publishing peer-reviewed research on algorithmic bias/fairness
- Expertise in ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) and ethical auditing methodologies
- Deep understanding of global AI regulations (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, etc.)
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams in product development environments
