Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and iterate advanced prompts for LLMs including GPT-4, Claude, and proprietary models
- Develop quantitative evaluation frameworks to measure prompt effectiveness and model behavior
- Create documentation standards for prompt libraries and engineering best practices
- Collaborate with ML engineers to fine-tune model parameters based on prompt performance data
- Conduct A/B testing on prompt variations to optimize response quality and safety
- Train cross-functional teams on prompt engineering methodologies and tools
- Research emerging techniques in generative AI and implement innovative solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in prompt engineering, NLP, or applied AI development
- Portfolio demonstrating successful prompt optimization projects with measurable outcomes
- Expertise in LLM architectures including transformer-based models and attention mechanisms
- Proficiency in Python and prompt engineering frameworks like LangChain or Haystack
- Strong analytical skills with experience designing experiments and interpreting model outputs
- Excellent written communication ability to craft precise, context-rich prompts
- Experience working in remote, agile development environments
