We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead our security operations in Los Angeles. At Apex Sentinel Security, we protect critical infrastructure and ensure data integrity for Fortune 500 clients.
This is a hybrid role offering flexibility with remote options, allowing you to balance on-site collaboration with secure remote work environments.
In this pivotal position, you will architect defense-in-depth strategies, oversee incident response, and drive the modernization of our security posture.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage complex security architectures, including next-generation firewalls, SIEM, and endpoint protection systems.
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security flaws before exploitation.
- Lead and coordinate incident response efforts for security breaches, conducting post-incident analysis and forensic investigations.
- Ensure strict compliance with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOC 2 Type II.
- Develop and execute security awareness training programs to mitigate human error and phishing risks.
- Monitor security events in real-time, analyze logs, and correlate data to detect and neutralize threats.
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CISM, or similar advanced security certification.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, network security, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, and Check Point.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and experience with AWS or Azure security controls.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
