Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events via SIEM (Splunk, Sentinel) to identify and mitigate potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify system weaknesses.
- Manage and configure network security appliances, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and proxy servers.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC2, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS through audits and policy enforcement.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Provide security awareness training to employees to reduce human error and phishing risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Active Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network administration.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI models, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM (Splunk, LogRhythm), IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and threat hunting.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
