We are looking for a motivated Part-Time Junior Web Developer to join our growing team in Baton Rouge, LA. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring developer to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in building and maintaining our digital presence, working alongside experienced developers to bring modern web solutions to life.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the development of responsive, user-friendly websites using modern web technologies.
- Collaborate with the design team to translate wireframes and UI/UX mockups into clean, functional code.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues within existing codebases to ensure optimal site performance.
- Conduct code reviews and participate in agile sprint planning.
- Implement and optimize SEO best practices to enhance search engine visibility.
- Stay current with emerging web development trends and tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop front-end interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Integrate APIs and third-party services to enhance application functionality.
- Maintain and update existing company websites with new content and features.
- Write clean, well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding project progress.
- Support the QA process by identifying bugs and suggesting fixes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong understanding of web fundamentals, including HTTP protocols, DOM manipulation, and semantic HTML.
- Proficiency in CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of JavaScript and familiarity with React or Vue.js is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
