Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented **Part-Time Cybersecurity Analyst** to join our elite security team in Riverside, CA. In this critical role, you will assist in monitoring our digital environment, detecting potential threats, and implementing proactive measures to safeguard our organizational assets. You will work closely with senior analysts to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining a 24/7 watch over our network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, CrowdStrike) to identify and mitigate cyber threats in real-time.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our systems and applications.
- Network Security: Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPNs to ensure robust network integrity and data protection.
- Incident Response: Investigate and troubleshoot security incidents, following established incident response plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Compliance & Policy: Ensure strict adherence to compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA (if applicable) through audits and documentation.
- Security Hardening: Collaborate with IT operations to patch systems, update configurations, and harden endpoints against emerging threats.
Qualifications
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GSEC.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network security operations.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, common network protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Tools: Familiarity with security tools, log analysis, and scripting (Python/Bash) is highly preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as part of a part-time rotational shift.
