Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software conflicts for internal and external clients.
- Monitor network traffic and system performance to identify potential security vulnerabilities or bottlenecks.
- Perform regular network audits and updates to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Document all network changes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps in our CMDB.
- Provide technical support and training to junior staff and end-users regarding network usage and security best practices.
- Collaborate with the IT Manager to plan and execute network upgrades and migrations.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Certification such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CCNP is a significant plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in network administration or IT support.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark) and hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a flexible schedule.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites within the Glendale area.
