Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing under guidance
- Assist with incident response documentation and forensic analysis
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Conduct security awareness training for employees
- Generate and analyze security reports for leadership
- Stay current on emerging threats through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux operating systems
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 operations coverage
- US citizenship required for government contracts
