Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for real-time threat detection and analysis
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware outbreaks and unauthorized access attempts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (NIST, HIPAA, etc.)
- Generate comprehensive security incident reports and executive dashboards
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and security technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or similar environment
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network analysis (Wireshark)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Valid California driver's license and clean background check
