Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security systems for suspicious activity or policy violations.
- Assist in the identification, documentation, and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
- Respond to and triage security alerts and incidents in a timely manner.
- Support the implementation of security patches, updates, and firewalls.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards (e.g., HIPAA, NIST).
- Document security incidents and prepare reports for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, OSI Model, and DNS.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows and Linux) and command-line interfaces.
- Knowledge of security concepts such as encryption, hashing, and authentication.
- Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain one within 6 months) is a plus but not required.
