Responsibilities
- Threat Detection & Response: Monitor network traffic and security systems 24/7 to identify, analyze, and respond to potential cyber threats and security breaches in real-time.
- Incident Management: Lead forensic investigations into security incidents, document findings, and implement remediation strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our network architecture and applications.
- Security Implementation: Configure, maintain, and optimize firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to industry standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, and NIST by performing regular security audits and compliance checks.
- Access Control: Manage user permissions, conduct privilege reviews, and enforce strict identity and access management (IAM) policies.
- Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training programs to educate employees on best practices and emerging threats.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CompTIA Network+ is highly preferred. Active Top Secret clearance is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), endpoint protection (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne), and network security appliances.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a SOC (Security Operations Center) environment or as a Security Analyst.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex security issues and make quick, data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relocation: Willingness to relocate to the Charlotte, NC area (we provide assistance for candidates in Georgia).
