Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure and applications
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation measures
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response playbooks and security policies
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure regulatory compliance (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Provide security awareness training to employees and conduct phishing simulation campaigns
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security events and prioritize threats
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing methodologies
- Excellent communication skills for documenting incidents and presenting findings to stakeholders
