Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with federal and local regulations.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to internal staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Oversee the configuration and management of Active Directory, ensuring user access rights are secure and up-to-date.
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new applications and upgrade existing systems.
- Document all technical procedures, configurations, and incident reports accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience as a System Administrator or Network Administrator.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server (2008/2012/2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
