In this role, you will bridge the gap between our technical teams and business goals, ensuring that our data, networks, and applications remain secure, scalable, and available 24/7. You will be the guardian of our digital assets in the heart of the Bay Area.
Responsibilities
- Server & Network Management: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliability of on-premise and cloud-based servers (Linux/Windows).
- Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and optimize cloud resources on AWS or Azure, ensuring cost-efficiency and high availability.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect against cyber threats, ensuring adherence to local and federal regulations.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime during critical failures.
- Scripting & Automation: Write and maintain scripts (Python/Bash) to automate routine administrative tasks and improve system performance.
- Support & Troubleshooting: Provide Level 3 support for complex technical issues, collaborating with the help desk and development teams.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
- Operating Systems: Strong proficiency in Windows Server and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS or Azure.
- Networking: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Scripting: Ability to write and debug scripts in Bash or Python.
- certifications: Certification such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
