Detroit Tech Innovations is seeking a Senior System Administrator to architect and maintain our robust IT infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring the uptime, security, and scalability of our enterprise systems.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between IT operations and development, ensuring our applications run smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of data security.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain on-premise servers (Linux/Windows) and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
- Automate routine tasks and deployment pipelines using scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ansible).
- Oversee Active Directory administration, user provisioning, and security policies.
- Monitor system performance and health, troubleshooting issues proactively to minimize downtime.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and optimize system workflows.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in System Administration or IT Infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server operating systems.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or CCNA are preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to travel to the Detroit office for quarterly team syncs.
