Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Windows/Linux server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms
- Proactively monitor system health using tools like SolarWinds and Nagios to prevent outages
- Execute backup/recovery procedures and disaster recovery testing
- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) including IAM policies, VPC configuration, and cost optimization
- Document IT processes, SOPs, and configuration standards
- Lead security initiatives including vulnerability patching and compliance audits
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex system issues and escalations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years administering Windows Server 2016+ and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu)
- Expert knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise networking
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and IaaS/PaaS services
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP preferred)
- Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere/Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation abilities
