Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Linux/Windows server environments and virtualization platforms (VMware/KVM)
- Manage cloud infrastructure including AWS/Azure services and hybrid cloud deployments
- Oversee network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Automate system administration tasks using Python/PowerShell and configuration management tools
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive solutions
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Document system configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise system administration with Linux/Windows environments
- Expertise in virtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
- Certifications in AWS/Azure, CompTIA Server+, or Red Hat preferred
- Proven experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
