Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools (Splunk, SolarWinds) and automate response workflows.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and remediate them proactively.
- Manage and configure firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network security appliances.
- Lead incident response efforts, including triage, containment, eradication, and post-incident recovery.
- Enforce strict security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and NIST.
- Perform log analysis and forensic investigations to detect malicious activity and insider threats.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Valid CISSP, CEH, Security+, or equivalent cybersecurity certification (GRC, CISM preferred).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or network security engineering.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for security automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during security incidents.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
