Apex Cyber Defense Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Operations Analyst to join our elite team in New York City. We protect some of the world's most critical infrastructure and require dedicated professionals to maintain our 24/7 security posture. Responsibilities
- Monitor security events, alerts, and anomalies within the SIEM environment to detect potential intrusions.
- Conduct forensic analysis and root cause investigations for security incidents occurring during the weekend shift.
- Execute threat hunting strategies to identify dormant threats and unpatched vulnerabilities.
- Manage ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) to document incidents and maintain SLA compliance.
- Collaborate with the threat intelligence team to correlate global threat feeds with local network activity.
- Assist in the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for weekend operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a SOC, GRC, or information security role.
- Strong experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight) and EDR solutions.
- Active certification in CISSP, Security+, or CEH preferred.
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Friday through Monday) with high vigilance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for incident reporting.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors.
