Responsibilities
- Monitor security operations centers (SOC) dashboards and alerts for potential threats and anomalies 24/7.
- Conduct log analysis and forensic investigations to determine the scope and root cause of security incidents.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support to identify weaknesses in network architecture.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
- Document security incidents, actions taken, and resolution steps for compliance and audit purposes.
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch systems and remediate technical vulnerabilities.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threat vectors, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain: CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA certifications within 6 months of hire.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, and HTTP.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces (CLI).
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to relocate to Charlotte, NC (Relocation package provided).
