Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure including Cisco routers, switches, and wireless systems
- Proactively monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and resolve issues within SLA requirements
- Lead network security initiatives including firewall configuration, VPN management, and threat mitigation
- Document network topology, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless IT solutions for high-profile clients
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex network outages and implement preventive maintenance strategies
- Stay current with emerging technologies including SD-WAN, cloud networking, and automation tools
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment (CCNP certification required)
- Expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and advanced routing protocols
- Proven track record in designing and implementing secure network architectures
- Strong troubleshooting skills with enterprise switches, routers, and wireless systems
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud networking (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with network automation using Python or Ansible
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites within San Antonio
