Your Mission
As our Weekend Shift Engineer, you will be the first line of defense against emerging threats, ensuring business continuity and data protection when the office is quiet. You will collaborate with the 24/7 SOC team to triage alerts, investigate incidents, and implement robust security measures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor & Triage: Continuously monitor security alerts, SIEM dashboards, and intrusion detection systems during weekend shifts to identify and mitigate threats in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the technical investigation and remediation of security breaches, malware infections, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct weekly vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and manage the patching lifecycle.
- Access Control: Manage and audit user access rights, ensuring strict adherence to the principle of least privilege and compliance standards.
- Security Automation: Develop and maintain Python scripts and automation tools to streamline security operations and reduce manual workload.
- Compliance Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on security incidents and compliance status for executive leadership and auditors.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Certification: CISSP, CEH, CISM, or Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or SOC analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight) and Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Programming: Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for security automation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
