Apex Cyber Systems is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our elite security operations team. We are responsible for safeguarding millions of user transactions and protecting our client's digital assets from evolving threats.
In this role, you will lead threat hunting initiatives, refine our incident response protocols, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2. You will work in a dynamic environment where your expertise directly determines the security posture of our infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across the enterprise environment using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar).
- Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with IT teams to contain and remediate breaches.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Design and implement robust security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Develop and maintain threat intelligence reports to predict and mitigate cyber attacks.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR.
- Train staff on security best practices and phishing awareness.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, encryption standards, and security architectures.
- Proficiency with security tools like FireEye, Snort, and Nessus.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
