Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents within the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) environment during the Weekend Shift.
- Conduct 24/7 threat hunting to identify malicious activity that bypasses standard automated controls.
- Perform Incident Response (IR) procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery for high-priority breaches.
- Analyze network traffic and endpoint logs to detect anomalies and potential vulnerabilities.
- Generate detailed incident reports and threat intelligence summaries for the Monday morning briefing team.
- Collaborate with the Virginia-based incident response team to coordinate cross-regional security operations.
- Assist in the development and testing of playbooks for weekend-specific attack scenarios.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a SOC or Information Security role.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC required; CISA preferred.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work Weekend Shifts (Friday-Monday or rotating schedules).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Azure Sentinel) and scripting (Python or PowerShell).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors (Phishing, Ransomware, APTs).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent military/experience background.
