Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses before they are exploited.
- Investigate security incidents, perform forensics analysis, and document root causes and remediation steps.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as NIST, HIPAA, and SOC 2 by managing audits and access controls.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security patches and configure firewalls and intrusion prevention systems.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees to reduce human error risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field; equivalent experience is accepted.
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or information security analysis.
- Active certification such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, Linux, and Windows environments.
- Proven experience with security tools including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote-friendly environment.
