Responsibilities
- Monitor & Analyze: Continuously monitor SOC tools (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) for security alerts, intrusions, and suspicious activities during the night shift.
- Incident Response: Triage, investigate, and remediate security incidents with a focus on containment and eradication.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and vulnerabilities within the network environment.
- Log Management: Correlate data from firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoints to identify trends and anomalies.
- Reporting: Generate and present daily/weekly security reports to management and stakeholders highlighting key threats and resolution status.
- Compliance: Ensure all security controls adhere to internal policies and industry standards (NIST, ISO, HIPAA).
- Communication: Collaborate with the day-shift team to hand over unresolved tickets and ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent military/combat experience).
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a SOC environment, specifically with 24/7 monitoring.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, Elastic, or similar), Python scripting, and Windows/Linux administration.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify subtle patterns and anomalies in large datasets.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to write clear incident reports.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
