As a key member of our Night Shift team, you will be responsible for monitoring security events, responding to incidents, and ensuring our organization remains impenetrable during off-business hours. Responsibilities
- 24/7 Threat Monitoring: Analyze security alerts, logs, and telemetry to identify potential intrusions and malicious activity across the network.
- Incident Response: Lead the technical response to security breaches, execute containment strategies, and coordinate with the forensics team for post-incident analysis.
- SIEM Management: Manage and tune SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to reduce noise and highlight critical threats.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct nightly vulnerability scans and perform root-cause analysis to patch security gaps.
- Security Operations: Enforce security policies, manage firewall rules, and oversee endpoint protection strategies.
- Reporting: Generate detailed incident reports and provide actionable insights to senior leadership regarding the current security posture.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a specific focus on Night Shift or 24/7 SOC operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, LogRhythm), IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems (McAfee, CrowdStrike).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear and concise incident reports.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently during night shifts with high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
