Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and security gaps.
- Manage incident response procedures, including triage, containment, and eradication of cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement robust security protocols, firewalls, and access controls.
- Prepare detailed security reports and presentations for executive stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies to recommend proactive defenses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Certification: CISSP, CEH, or CISM preferred (Security+ acceptable with significant experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity or a related IT role.
- Strong knowledge of network security architectures and protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, Firewalls).
- Proficiency in security tools such as Splunk, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and Endpoint Protection.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure during security incidents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively train staff on security best practices.
