The Role
As a Security Analyst, you will monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events through SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Manage and configure firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Lead incident response efforts during security breaches, coordinating with IT and management to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Develop and deliver security awareness training to reduce human error and phishing risks.
- Document security architectures and maintain accurate incident reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certification preferred: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related IT role.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and common attack vectors.
- Experience with SIEM tools, log analysis, and automated response workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
