Responsibilities
- Threat Detection & Monitoring: Utilize SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to monitor network traffic and security events, identifying potential breaches and anomalies in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead and coordinate the investigation, containment, and eradication of cybersecurity incidents and cyberattacks.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and implement necessary patches.
- Security Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs to ensure secure network boundaries.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CMMC requirements.
- Security Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on security best practices and phishing awareness.
- Log Analysis: Analyze security logs and forensic data to provide actionable intelligence to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or IT security.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with security tools such as FireEye, Snort, and SIEM platforms (Splunk, LogRhythm).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and Windows/Linux server security.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, and the ability to work independently.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret government clearance is required.
