Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on web applications and network infrastructure.
- Monitor security alerts and analyze logs to identify potential threats or breaches in real-time.
- Develop and maintain rigorous security documentation, including incident response plans and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement security best practices and ensure compliance with SOC 2 and HIPAA standards.
- Perform scheduled security audits and provide actionable remediation recommendations to stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and industry regulations.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of junior security staff during quarterly on-site sessions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, penetration testing, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Wireshark, Burp Suite, Nmap, or Metasploit.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated individual capable of managing time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Willingness to relocate to Chicago, IL (Relocation assistance provided).
