Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and event logs (SIEM) in real-time to detect and mitigate threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our systems.
- Manage and configure firewalls, VPNs, and access controls to enforce security policies.
- Respond to and remediate security incidents, including forensic analysis and incident reporting.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security best practices and compliance standards.
- Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
- Experience with security tools (e.g., Splunk, Wireshark, or similar SIEM platforms).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and common attack vectors.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.
- Must be eligible for US government security clearance (if applicable).
