Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support for internal networks.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus solutions.
- Assist in forensic analysis and documentation following security breaches or policy violations.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Collaborate with the full-time team to refine security protocols and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in information security, network defense, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP) are highly preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Proficiency in using security tools such as Wireshark, Snort, or Nessus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report technical findings clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.
