Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents in real-time using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses before malicious actors exploit them.
- Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Enforce compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Perform security audits and create detailed reports for stakeholders and management.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Provide cybersecurity awareness training to junior staff and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network security or information security.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Experience with Linux/Windows environments and scripting languages (Python/Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.
- Clearance to work with sensitive data is a plus.
