The Role
As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our clients' network infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, security, and optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Internet systems.
- Perform daily network monitoring and troubleshooting to identify and resolve connectivity issues quickly.
- Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewalls and VPNs, to protect sensitive data.
- Upgrade and patch network hardware and software components as required by maintenance schedules.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal staff regarding network access and usage.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and changes accurately for future reference.
- Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute network capacity upgrades.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Network+ are highly preferred.
- Proven experience in network administration, routing, and switching.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and remote access technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to client sites within the Tampa area.
