Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and changes accurately using ticketing systems.
- Conduct physical cabling tasks, including fiber and copper installations, and manage cable management systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new network solutions and security protocols.
- Monitor network traffic and performance to identify potential bottlenecks or security threats.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, and switching protocols.
- Proven experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Must be willing to travel to client sites within the Minneapolis metropolitan area.
