Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain: Deploy new network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring optimal performance.
- Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network traffic and performance using tools like SolarWinds or Wireshark to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software conflicts efficiently.
- Cabling & Infrastructure: Perform physical cabling tasks, including fiber and copper installation, cable management, and rack organization.
- Security Management: Implement and enforce security protocols, including VPN configurations and access control lists (ACLs).
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, IP address management, and change logs.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in network administration or IT support.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in configuring Cisco, Juniper, or Allied Telesis equipment.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or climb ladders for cabling.
