Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Systems: Analyze real-time alerts from SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to identify and respond to potential cyber threats.
- Incident Response: Assist in the triage, containment, and eradication of security incidents according to established playbooks.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular scans and assessments of internal networks and web applications to identify security gaps.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively search for hidden threats and malicious actors within the network environment.
- Compliance Reporting: Support internal audits and ensure adherence to industry standards such as HIPAA and PCI-DSS.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and technical documentation for the security team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, or similar entry-level certifications are highly preferred.
- Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, and HTTP protocols.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Linux/Windows command line, basic scripting (Python or Bash preferred), and virtualization technologies.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
