Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to potential threats
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities
- Document security incidents and contribute to forensic analysis reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with security policies and standards
- Stay current on emerging threats and security best practices through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Fundamental knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Understanding of common security concepts (CIA triad, threat vectors, attack surfaces)
- Basic familiarity with security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification preferred
