Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and SIEM tools to detect, analyze, and respond to potential cybersecurity threats and incidents in real-time.
- Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities to identify system weaknesses.
- Document security incidents, incident reports, and system configurations in compliance with organizational policies.
- Support compliance audits and regulatory requirements, including NIST and GDPR frameworks.
- Perform routine log reviews and analyze network traffic to identify anomalous behavior patterns.
- Collaborate with IT operations to ensure secure deployment of software and hardware updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Familiarity with network fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and VPNs.
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows and Linux) and command-line interfaces.
- Eagerness to obtain industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical findings.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotational on-call schedule as required by the SOC.
